Briefly analysed
The SciCommSci Club offers a network specifically for the science of science communication. Researchers, practitioners and passionate science communicators can come togethere. That is the claim of founder Siddharth Kankaria.
Networking If you want to exchange ideas about the science of SciComm, we recommend SciCommSci. The club aims to bring together practitioners, researchers and people with a passion for SciComm.
Researchers should communicate more and Public Rngagement should be expanded in Germany and worldwide. Exchange with others is necessary. Of course, networking is a necessity. Where can you do that better, than in a club with like-minded people?
A club for dialog and discussion

We came across the SciCommSci Club on Twitter. On its website, the club describes itself as a place for dialogue and discussion about the science of science communication. That’s where the name SciCommSci comes from.

The founder is Siddharth Kankaria from Bengaluru in India. He has a science background in biology and SciComm. With his club he wants to bring together practitioners, researchers and people with a passion for SciComm. For this purpose, he put together a diverse range of activities:
- Conversations to discuss research, practices and case studies
- Feedback for researchers, professional and passionate communicators about their SciComm
- Online discussions and workshops
- A network for exchange
Get to know stakeholders – worldwide
All offerings are in English and some are available on the website. Most of the discussion is about SciComm in India. Nevertheless SciCommSci is also worth it for the German and English speaking countries. The topics covered in the workshops or discussions such as “Listening in Science” can be inspiring for all. Because interested parties get to know new players in SciComm who offer exciting insights.
Listen or participate yourself
In the online formats, researchers talk about their view of SciComm and practitioners can deduce on what they have to pay attention in SciComm. In this way, participants can learn from each other. You can either just listen or participate by registering. I think SciCommSci is a great offer that can create a network for SciComm worldwide.
